THE FIFTH AND FINAL EPISODE OF ADERA IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR iOS AND ANDROID
Combining gorgeous graphics with classic gameplay, Adera is now updated and ported to all major gaming distribution channels
Los Angeles, CA. July 12, 2018 – HitPoint Studios, a leading mobile game developer, has launched the fifth and final episode of its Adera mobile game, an intriguing archaeological adventure initially developed with Microsoft Studios. The full game was only available through the Windows Store until now.
In Episode 1, the game starts with main character Jane Sinclaire waking up after a helicopter crash. She receives a desperate message from her long-missing grandfather. Using nothing but her wits and a strange stone orb to guide her, Jane sets out to find her grandfather before it’s too late. The player must find hundreds of hidden artifacts, solve challenging puzzles, and explore colorful and detailed landscapes to solve the mystery.
Originally developed as a launch title for the Windows 8 platform, Adera is one of the top-downloaded games in the Windows Store. In 2017, HitPoint Studios licensed the publishing rights from Microsoft and is now releasing the popular game in all major PC and mobile stores.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of episodic games where you experience the same characters and a continuation of a larger narrative in each episode,” says Kevin Lambert, Design Director for the Microsoft Casual Games studio. “Adera combines this episodic approach with fantastic environments to explore, plenty of puzzles to solve, and mysteries to uncover.”
You guide Jane through various environments, finding tools and other collectibles which are then used to solve contextual puzzles. Adera offers a well thought out hint system for less experienced gamers. There is more than 10 hours of gameplay included across the five episodes.
“One of my favorite games growing up was Myst,” says Paul Hake, the CEO of HitPoint. “Adera is our homage to that beautiful and genre-busting game. Like Myst, we designed thoughtful story-driven gameplay that takes place in gorgeous, immersive environments. A big thanks to our partners at Microsoft for allowing us to bring Adera to new audiences.”
