Senior Tech Artist
Greenfield, MA

HitPoint is looking for a Senior Tech Artist proficient in Unity development for a long term, full-time, remote contract role to support the ongoing development of an unannounced mobile/PC game title.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Art Director, art team, engineering team and other discipline stakeholders to identify and develop tools, processes and standards for efficient, high production value art content
  • Standard setting and management of art related game tech & tools for both game system and art development pipeline support 
    • Unity packages/tools r&d, recommendation and integration
    • custom tools & systems scripting/coding
    • shaders, materials, lighting, post processing
    • rigging and skinning
  • Standard setting, documentation and management of asset organization, naming and performance requirements 
  • Art integration support 
  • General development support work (to inspire the creation of tools that speed up and optimize processes!) 
  • Help others develop appropriate knowledge and skills through training and constructive feedback

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (or 3 years of equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a tech artist working with Unity
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, JavaScript, MAX Script, MEL)
  • Examples of tools and systems demonstrating excellent tech art skills and sensibilities 
  • Passion for organization and efficiency
  • Appreciation for collaborative teamwork
  • Deep understanding of art development pipelines
  • Passion for games and software quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • (Unity) FX development competence
  • Basic C# knowledge
  • High-level of game design & development knowledge

System Administrator

HitPoint Studios is hiring a contract System Administrator to help manage the remote servers for all of our online gaming projects. This role is currently expected to be a 6 month contract to support the rollout of new games for HitPoint's casino line of business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple cloud servers running Linux.  Monitor server stability and availability.
  • Maintain a high level of security on our servers.  Stay on top of security patches.
  • Look into server outages and errors.  Quickly identify problems and pass information on to the relevant parties.  Log incident reports and work on actions to prevent future errors.
  • Maintain backups of key infrastructure, especially databases, across multiple regions for disaster recovery.
  • Manage firewall policies and other network traffic policies.
  • Deploy and maintain databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
  • Develop and maintain server deployment processes.
  • Manage tasks and communicate with producers and engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or better in CS or related field.
  • Expert level knowledge of managing Linux servers.
  • Experience with the network layer and setting up routing between multiple servers
  • Experience managing firewalls and firewall security.
  • Experience using Cloud solutions.  AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Experience managing and monitoring cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with relational databases.  mySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with NoSQL solutions.  DynamoDB or MongoDB.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working on moderately sized teams.
  • Ability to juggle multiple mid-sized projects.
  • Ability to keep calm when server issues arise and describe issues and solutions to clients.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree.
  • Local to Greenfield, MA
  • Experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience with AWS.  Especially EKS, DynamoDB, Lambda and Fargate.
  • Experience in a core programming language.  C, C++, Java or Go.
  • Experience with Jenkins

FX Artist
Greenfield, MA

HitPoint is looking for an FX Artist proficient in Unity development for a full-time, remote contract role to support the ongoing development of an unannounced mobile/PC game title.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Art Director, art team, design team and other discipline stakeholders to conceive, create and polish efficient, high production value game FX
  • Create meshes, textures and particle systems as needed to support FX creation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (or 3 years of equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an fx artist working with Unity
  • Examples of FX work demonstrating excellent skills and sensibilities

Senior Backend Server Engineer
Greenfield, MA

LuckyPoint is hiring a full time software engineer for a key role in architecting, implementing and maintaining our online real money gambling games. We're a small team focused on disrupting the European gambling industry with new and innovative games.  Check out one of our action casino games: Spoils of War!

Responsibilities

  • Write production ready Go and Java code for our REST  servers
  • Design and use PostgreSQL and Elastisearch databases.
  • Work closely with client engineers and designers to implement necessary endpoints.
  • Manage tasks and communicate with producers and teammates.
